Former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress leader Charanjeet Singh Channi has issued a strong appeal to voters urging them to remove the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power. He warned that the continuation of BJP's rule poses a serious threat to India’s democratic framework and the Constitution. Channi made these remarks during a public meeting held last night in support of Congress candidate Neeraj Sharma who is contesting from the NIT Assembly segment in Haryana.

BJP's Rule is a Threat to Democracy Says Channi

In his speech Channi criticized the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) accusing them of undermining the country’s bureaucratic recruitment system. He claimed that the RSS has been trying to infiltrate the ranks of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) by pushing their candidates through "backdoor channels." According to Channi this tactic completely disregards the merit-based selection system which is the foundation of a democratic and fair society.

Channi stated “This is a blatant attempt to destroy the system that upholds our civilized and democratic society. The recruitment of officers in important positions should be based on merit not on political or ideological affiliations.”

The Congress leader argued that such actions by the RSS and BJP are part of a larger strategy to consolidate their control over key institutions and bend them to their political will. He emphasized that the rule of law and the democratic framework are at risk under BJP’s leadership.

Criticism of BJP's Policies and Exploitation of Common People

Channi also criticized the BJP for exploiting ordinary citizens through various government schemes and online portals. He suggested that many of these schemes are not genuinely aimed at benefiting the common people but are designed to serve the BJP’s political interests. “The BJP has been exploiting the common man under the guise of development schemes. The time has come for their exit if we want to stop this exploitation” he said.

The former Chief Minister pointed out that the policies introduced during BJP’s rule have widened the gap between the rich and the poor making life more difficult for marginalized communities. He called on voters to make a decisive choice to end BJP’s rule in the state and bring in a government that prioritizes people’s welfare.

Neeraj Sharma as a Key Leader for Haryana’s Future

Charanjeet Singh Channi used the occasion to highlight Congress candidate Neeraj Sharma’s potential role in the future government of Haryana. He presented Sharma as a candidate with significant political potential suggesting that he could be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana if Congress comes to power.

Channi praised Sharma’s close relationship with key Congress leaders like former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Rahul Gandhi noting that his ties wi

"Neeraj Sharma has been a devoted leader deeply committed to his faith and public service. His devotion to Lord Rama reflects his sincerity unlike the BJP’s fake religiosity that only aims to manipulate religious sentiments for political gains" Channi remarked.

Channi’s endorsement of Sharma is seen as a strategic move to attract voters who are looking for credible leadership in the upcoming state elections. He assured the public that Sharma with his strong connections and dedication to public welfare would be a significant force for change in the state.

Criticism of BJP's Move to Elevate Nayab Singh Saini

Channi also took the opportunity to criticize the BJP’s recent decision to elevate Nayab Singh Saini as the Chief Minister. He described the move as an attempt by the BJP to deceive the public on issues related to the Dalits and weaker sections of society. According to Channi the BJP’s track record shows an increase in atrocities against these communities during its ten years in power.

“The BJP’s leadership has failed to protect the interests of marginalized communities. Their policies have only led to more suffering and the recent appointment of Nayab Singh Saini as Chief Minister is nothing but a façade” Channi stated.

He argued that while the BJP claims to be concerned about the welfare of weaker sections its actions speak otherwise. He pointed to the sharp rise in incidents of discrimination and violence against marginalized groups as evidence of the party’s failure to address critical social issues.

Congress Confident of Victory in Haryana

Channi concluded his speech on a confident note expressing his belief that the Congress party is well-positioned to win the upcoming elections in Haryana. He noted the strong support that Congress has been receiving throughout the election campaign stating that the momentum is clearly in favor of his party.

“We are witnessing overwhelming support from the people of Haryana. The public is fed up with the BJP’s divisive policies and is ready for a change. I am confident that Congress will return to power and bring the much-needed relief to the people” Channi said.

Neeraj Sharma who also addressed the gathering shared his vision for a prosperous Haryana. He promised to work for the development of the state and to focus on the issues that matter most to the people including employment education and healthcare.
