IPL 2024

If you are a professional cricketer then your first objective will be to play for your country's team. If this objective is achieved or you need a bigger platform to achieve this objective, then your next target is to play in the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL. IPL is the biggest and most popular T20 league in the world, but there are some cricketers who take a break from IPL. One of them is England batsman Harry Brook, who played the first season, but is not taking part in the next season.

Harry Brook was scheduled to play for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024. However, he had decided to withdraw from IPL citing personal reasons. In such a situation, Delhi Capitals had to announce his replacement. However, he was not injured as he is now playing county cricket at home. Harry Brook also did not participate in the five-match Test series played between India and England. He withdrew from the tour even before the first match of the Test series. He also played his last professional match in December 2023.

This right-handed batsman scored an unbeaten century in his first match of the County Championship this season. Brook played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2023, but instead of retaining him for a huge amount, SRH released him. After this, Delhi Capitals bought Brook in the auction for an amount of Rs 4 crore, but they withdrew from the entire tournament. In such a situation, the question is that if he had to withdraw from the tournament, then he should have announced before the auction held in December that he will not play in IPL 2024.
